Co-Creation: The Heart of Innovation and Growth
By May Sripatanaskul, CEO & Founder, LUKKID
When people ask me what drives meaningful innovation, my answer is simple: co-creation. At LUKKID, we design workshops and collaborative processes to help organizations innovate, not by handing them ready-made solutions, but by guiding them to discover insights, reframe challenges, and ideate actionable answers together.
Rediscovering Common Sense Through Design Thinking
My journey with design thinking began at Stanford d.school’s d.leadership program in 2013, during my MBA studies. With a background in engineering and finance, I was used to working with machines and numbers—a world that often felt dry and detached. Discovering design thinking was a revelation. It introduced me to a human-centric approach, one where empathy is not just a tool, but a necessity for solving real-world challenges.
To me, design thinking is a form of forgotten common sense. Too often, we rush to solutions without truly understanding the problem or the people involved. Design thinking reminds us to use our heads to analyze, our hearts to empathize, and our hands to prototype and test. This holistic approach is what brings ideas to life and makes innovation sustainable.
Building with, Not For
At LUKKID, we believe the best people to tackle organizational challenges are those within the organization itself. Our role is not to impose answers, but to engage, empower, and walk alongside our partners as they address their unique challenges. This philosophy of co-creation ensures that solutions are not only innovative, but also authentic and actionable.
Prototyping Life and Business
Design thinking doesn’t end at the office door. As a certified Designing Your Life coach, I have learned to apply these principles to my own journey—taking time off from banking to prototype LUKKID through experimental workshops, and even at home as a parent, where I constantly test and adapt ways to connect and grow with my son.
An Invitation to Young Creators
To the next generation: Innovation is not about perfection, but about participation. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. Embrace empathy, experiment boldly, and remember—your voice matters most when you co-create with others. The future belongs to those who are willing to build it together.
